2016 QANTAS Approval to Carry Li-Ion Batteries

Official Approval from QANTAS to Carry Certain Li-Ion Batteries

ACS members have been supplied with a letter from QANTAS verifying official permission to carry Li-Ion batteries with certain capacities on QANTAS Group flights.

Camera crews are able to carry Li-Ion batteries of less than 100 Wh capacity in carry-on baggage only, provided the terminals are protected from short circuit.

In addition to this, crews are allowed up to two batteries that have a capacity of between 100 and 160 Whs in their carry-on. In both cases, normal carry-on baggage weight limits apply.

For further details, refer to the downloadable letter below.

Please download and carry the attached letter from QANTAS at all times for confirmation to the airport staff.
