Vale – Neil Robert Head

Neil left the building trade in the mid ’70s to join the film industry as a grip.

He started off in a panel van & trailer, and three trucks later….. in a brand new ‘Isuzu’ truck.

He travelled extensively around Australia and overseas, mostly on commercials & only a few movies.

He loved his job & earned a very good living until he retired at about 66.

He then joined Panavision until he finally retired at 70.

Neil spent the next ten years pottering in the shed with his motor bikes.

He contracted Mesothelioma in 2012 & suffered greatly until he died on the 3rd January 2014.

Neil was a highly respected & talented grip, evidenced by the many industry people at his funeral, so many years after he left the industry. He was farewelled by a capacity crowd.
