It is with great sadness to inform you of the passing of Kelly Chen, a well-liked and respected member of staff in the Bond University Film and TV area. The technical staff in this discipline are responsible for teaching a large number of students year by year in their studio work, and consequently there are many for whom this event has been a moment of profound grief.
Kelly was initially one of the students, commencing in 2007, and after graduating worked in the Bond College as well as the University: he became a technical officer in the faculty full time staff in 2013, but also regularly taught as an adjunct staff member in the cinematography subjects in FTV.
Kelly had been ill for a long period, and he passed away at 4:50pm on Saturday 30th September. He went peacefully in hospital surrounded by family and friends, and visited by many former students.

Both Mic Collis and I had the good fortune to work with Kelly, who possessed a wonderful sense of humour, a natural ability as a teacher and a cinematographer. He will be sadly missed by many, and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time.
