It is with great sadness that I must let you know of another loss to the AFTRS’ community in the passing of Ian Bosman. Ian passed away on the weekend at the Royal North Shore Hospital in St Leonards.
Ian worked at AFTRS for many years as a Gaffer providing lighting advice to students, sharing his vast knowledge of film lighting with patience and enthusiasm. As well as lighting student film sets and supporting teaching staff, Ian was instrumental in developing lighting safety education at AFTRS and his induction program remains our current standard for ensuring students use industry best practice in lighting and electrical safety on set.
Ian was passionate about educating a new generation of filmmakers and I know he will missed by those who were privileged enough to work with him.
