It’s with great sadness that we’ve learnt of the passing of beloved NSW member, Tania Lambert ACS after a long and brave battle.
The ACS would like to extend our condolences to all her friends and loving family. Tania was a wonderful mum and partner; our hearts go out to Melvin and their young son at this difficult time.
Many of you have known and worked with Tania who was a creative, gentle spirit with a smile that always lit up a room. Her work as a cinematographer is expressive and sensitive, a reflection of her approach to life.
Graduating with a Master of Arts from AFTRS in 2008, Tania worked across features, TV series, music videos, commercials and documentaries. Her early work included the series The Moodys and Patricia Moore as well as 2nd unit work on TV series Wakefield and the Gloaming.
Her impressive feature work includes the anthology Here Out West and coming of age drama, Riptide.
In 2018 she earned her accreditation from the ACS going on to shoot the TV series Bad Behaviour and Erotic Stories where she generously became one of the first mentors for the ACS/ Screen Australia Credit Maker Programme. Over the years she has won numerous ACS awards for her moving cinematography work.
The courage, grace and humility with which Tania fought her illness should be an inspiration to us all. The roller coaster of hope and disappointments is profound, and Tania knew she had the whole of the film community behind her, which gave her great strength.
It is heart breaking that we have lost Tania at such a young age, she has touched all our hearts and her beautiful spirit will never be forgotten. Rest in peace my friend.
