The Toia Legacy Award

The Toia Legacy Award will be presented by ACS Queensland in honour and memory of renowned director Mark Toia.
Mark was a titan of the film industry. As a pioneer and early adopter of new technology, he developed a long association with camera manufacturer RED Digital Cinema.
Truly multiskilled, Mark was not only a director but also a skilled cinematographer, photographer, editor, colourist, and VFX artist. He had a significant influence on filmmakers across the globe as well as in Australia. Mark’s passion for mentoring, collaborating, and sharing knowledge is well known, and he had a very positive impact on many careers both within and outside the ACS family.
ACS Queensland is pleased to support this award with the assistance of RED Digital Cinema to give an annual award in Mark’s honour and to continue his legacy.
THE AWARD
The recipient of the award will receive a flagship RED V-RAPTOR [X] 8K production kit for a period of two months to create the project. This award will be presented annually at the ACS Queensland awards to an emerging filmmaker in Mark’s memory.
WHO SHOULD ENTER
A filmmaker that embodies the same spirit as Mark. Ambitious, driven, multiskilled with a demonstrated willingness to continually learn new skills & technology. Directors, Cinematographers,
Videographers are encouraged to apply and present a project for consideration.
ELIGIBILITY
Limited to ACS Queensland members only.
Entries close 1 November 2024.
