January Drop In

Now that Christmas and New Year festivities have been completed itís time to move onto our first Drop In for 2016.

Our January Drop In will feature two related presentations. Firstly, Randall Titus of Sony Australia will fill us in on the latest developments within Sony's large frame sensor product range. With many recent model releases by Sony this night will be a great opportunity for you to ďget up to speedĒ.

Pieter de Vries ACS

Following will be NSW member Piet de Vries ACS. For his most recent assignment Piet took three Sony mirrorless cameras to cover his 4K cinematography and stills photography.

Joining Aurora Expedition's ice-breaker, the Polar Pioneer as a cinematography mentor, he travelled from the Falkland Islands to South Georgia Island and Antarctica on a three week journey through the Antarctic ice.

Of his trip Piet says "although I was on board largely for guests, I shot some video to help to demonstrate my techniques. Working solo, I wanted a compact, lightweight camera, a big sensor and 4K capture - the A7R Mk2ís were spot on because I already had a swag of lenses from my FS7 kit".

Pieter will join Randall to discuss his experiences shooting video and still images with a small camera and he will also be screening footage shot during the voyage.

This looks to be an excellent start to what hopefully will be another great year of NSW Drop Ins so mark your diary at Thursday 21st January. Doors to HQ (address below) will open at 6pm with proceedings starting at around 7pm.
